The defending Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) champions return to action this weekend with a doubleheader in Sydney, Nova Scotia against the 0-2 Cape Breton University (CBU) Capers.

Previously, the 0-1-1 Hurricanes played the 2023 ACHA Championship runner-up in the Acadia University Axewomen in a home-opener weekend doubleheader on Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19, tying 0-0 and losing 4-0. Emma Arsenault played in goal for Holland in both games.

Last season, the ‘Canes went 3-1-0 against the Capers and went 1-1 during the doubleheader in Sydney.

The ‘Canes have yet to score a point this season. Based on performances in the home-opener games, players that will be heavily relied on include veterans Jacy McMillan (F), Livi Lawlor (F), Madison Tingley (D), and Hillary Quilty (D), and rookies Taylor Gillis (F) and Kailey Lutley (F). It's more than likely rookie goaltender Bella Scott will be given her first career ACHA start at some point during the weekend.
